About Cadiz train station
Cadiz train station transfers start beside the port, a few steps from the old town, and go to the beaches and villages south of the city. If your hotel is outside the old town, a private transfer from Cadiz station is the quickest way to reach it.
Cadiz station is the last stop of the line, so trains from Seville and Jerez end here. It stands on Plaza de Sevilla, next to the port, with the old town close by. Visitors staying in the old town can walk to their hotel. Some of its lanes are too narrow for a vehicle in any case, and a transfer would only get you to the edge of them.
This hub is for the other group, travellers going on to the coast. Chiclana, La Barrosa and Novo Sancti Petri are the nearest. Beyond them come Conil, Vejer, El Palmar, Caños de Meca, Barbate and Zahara de los Atunes on the Atlantic side, and finally Tarifa. The table also lists routes to Malaga and Puerto Banús on the Costa del Sol.
Public transport is possible for some of these trips. The TramBahía tram-train runs from Cadiz through San Fernando to Chiclana, but it does not reach La Barrosa or Novo Sancti Petri, and buses leave Cadiz for several coastal towns. Both are fine if you travel light and have time. With suitcases or children, the last stretch from a stop to the resort is the part that wears you out. A private transfer from Cadiz station goes door to door.
Before Cadiz, trains from Seville stop at San Fernando-Bahía Sur, which is closer to Novo Sancti Petri and La Barrosa. It has its own page in this section. Enter your train number when you book, and the driver waits up to 45 minutes from the arrival time.
