About Chiclana - La Barrosa
Getting from Jerez Airport to La Barrosa is one private transfer to the beach side of Chiclana de la Frontera, a long strip of open Atlantic sand with a promenade behind it.
Chiclana is a town in its own right, set back from the coast. La Barrosa is where visitors stay, along a beach several kilometres long. It faces the open ocean, so the water is livelier than at the sheltered beaches inside the Bay of Cadiz, and the wind can pick up in the afternoon.
The name causes the only real confusion. Chiclana town, La Barrosa and Novo Sancti Petri at the southern end of the beach are three separate addresses, with their own roads between them. A hotel booked on La Barrosa and a driver sent to the town centre is an easy mistake, so give the hotel name or the exact street.
This is a family coast. Children's seats are free: add the ages of your children in the search and the seats are in the booking, so nothing has to come through the airport with you. The TramBahía tram-train links Chiclana town with San Fernando and Cadiz, but the beach is outside its reach, and the last leg from a stop to your hotel would be on your own.
