About Puerto Banús

A private transfer from Cadiz train station to Puerto Banus takes you from the last stop on the line to the Costa del Sol without changing transport.

This route is usually booked by someone who has just arrived by train in Cadiz, or finished a cruise at its port, and is carrying on to Marbella. So think of a long and specific journey, not a short hop to the next beach.

Puerto Banus is Marbella's marina, inside its municipality, in the Nueva Andalucía area. Search for "Banus" on a map and you can land on a beach or on the harbour, and the hotels are spread out. Give the name of your accommodation and its street.

The route leaves the Bay of Cadiz, passes through the Campo de Gibraltar and reaches the Costa del Sol on the A-7. Near Marbella the AP-7 toll road appears alongside, and the toll is included in your price. It is a long ride, so choose a vehicle where the suitcases are not squeezed in.

The alternatives, honestly. There is no train from Cadiz to the Costa del Sol, and by rail you have to put legs together. You can take a coach with a change, or look at flights to Malaga, whose airport is nearer to Marbella. The transfer wins when several of you travel, when you have luggage, or when you arrive after the last coaches have left.

If your train runs late, the driver waits up to 45 minutes from its arrival time.

One practical point for the first day. If you arrive before check-in, many hotels will keep your bags until the room is ready, and it is worth asking before you set off. If you would rather spend a night in Cadiz first, set the pickup for the next day and travel without a rush.

Areas

  • Puerto Banus

The marina, with terraces beside the boats and shops in the Nueva Andalucía area.

  • Nueva Andalucía

A residential and golf district behind the harbour, already in the municipality of Marbella.
