Are child seats available?
Free, always
Yes, child seats are available and they are free. They are added to your booking when you say how many children and infants are travelling. You do not need to bring your own from home or carry one onto the plane, and there is no separate form to ask for one. This condition does not depend on the route, the vehicle or the time of year. For a family with small children it is one less thing to pack, and you reach the hotel without having fitted or unfitted anything.
How they are added
There is no separate step for choosing a seat. In the search you enter how many adults, how many children aged 4 to 11 and how many infants aged 0 to 3 are travelling, and the website adds one seat for each child and one for each infant. The extras of the booking list them as “Child seats included at no cost”. Take two adults, a six-year-old and a one-year-old. That is four passengers and two seats, one of each type. The price is still per vehicle and does not change because of the seats. A child aged 12 or over counts as an adult and has no seat.
If you are unsure
There is a limit on the number of seats per booking. If you need more, or you are not sure which seat suits your child’s age and height, write to us before booking and we will point you the right way. Seats take up space in the boot, so if you also carry a lot of luggage, check how many suitcases each vehicle takes. If you forgot to add a child when you booked, tell us through “My booking” so the seat is ready. The limit is checked while you book, and the page warns you if you go over it. Every child and baby counts as a passenger when you choose a vehicle, however little they weigh.
